 Indigo Mill 2010 Winter Retreat
19th/20th/21st November 2010
Butley Mills, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 3PZ!! (Easily accessed from the A12 / Ipswich for trains)!!
www.butleymills.co.uk
Venue:
Butley Mills Accommodation is set over two Mill Houses and a converted Mill - the two Mill Houses have connecting doors which can be used to convert the two Houses into one large area for big groups such as us. The Old Mill has five apartments in it with between 1 and 3 bedrooms.
Each Apartment and each Mill House has it's own Kitchen, bathroom and living space enabling our guests to escape and relax or watch their favourite soaps. We all have to walk away from the craft table at some point!!
There is a large room we will be using for cropping in the bottom of The Old Mill, which should give us half a table each for cropping as usual. It also leads out onto the most beautiful veranda over the river, which flows through the bottom of the old Mill past all it's old workings, which are still beautifully preserved in the utility area.
Having been looking for a venue for several months now, I was really pleased with Butley Mills, it's clean, tidy, well decorated, and functional. Not far from the Coastline if you fancy a wander, or want to practise with a camera, as well as being absolutely stunningly beautiful and peaceful in itself!
Have a browse around www.butleymills.co.uk where you can see more pictures, room plans and information.
About our retreats:
First and foremost, the definition of 'retreat' is retreat - a place of privacy; a place affording peace and quiet and this is how we like to run our retreats.
We run our retreats like extra long crops, full of crafting, socialising, fun and friends, new and old. Although we offer classes over the weekend, these are dotted about and afford plenty of time to go through the class and finish it, no hurrying through to start the next one, leaving projects unfinished.
You're paying your money for a weekend away to do what you love, and we respect that, so we try to balance the weekend so you can do what you love to do, but also take time to relax away from housework, families and all the day to day stresses. Want to have a lay in? Go ahead! An afternoon nap? Don't blame you! We'll move classes around to fit in with our guests.
If you're wanting a getaway with friends, or a UKS group, or you're a newbie to retreats, then you're definitely in the right place. If you're part of a group, then you can get together, chat, and also retreat back to one of the living spaces of an evening to have a good old catch up. If you're a newbie, I can assure you you'll be doing the very same!!
Butley Mills is just absolutely stunning, it's beautiful, picturesque and just so peaceful. I'm pretty sure it's where all our mojo runs away to when we're stuck! A beautiful venue, combined with friends, fun and one or two members of our fab design team is sure to make for a scraptacular weekend!
